Just go . . .

One of the highlights when visiting Bali just has to be the variety of fresh food that you come across everywhere for sale.
This market is typical of what you see as you tour throughout the interior of the island.
There are some strange looking fruits on show but don't be shy, be game and try them, your tastebuds will love you forever!

The majority of Balinese are Hindu and they take the afterlife very seriously. While travelling around Bali you may come across a funeral where elaborate structures are built and then burnt in a fiery send off.
For good luck chickens in baskets are tied to the top of these structures.
Good luck for the departed, not for the chickens.

When visiting temples and other areas you are bound to come across the local monkey population. This photo was taken in the Monkey Forest in Ubud. Keep an eye out, they can be ferocious. They grab glasses, cameras, bags and this one pinched our water bottle and after a struggle finally got the thing open and had a drink!
They can bite also . . .

Kintamani, in the interior of Bali has this Volcano which still smoulds and causes the odd earthquake every now and then.
There is an early (3am) walk from the base to half way up the volcano where a magnificent Bali sunrise can be observed.
Watch out for the local hawkers around this neck of the woods, they just do not give up!
