The Batu Caves are just out of Kuala Lumpur and can be reached easily by local bus from the city.
This is a bit of Hindu culture in a predominately Muslim country.

At the end of the stairs you enter a huge cave and surprise, surprise, there are bats!
Wonderful carvings in and around the cave.

The Petronis Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur are
50 metres short of half a kilometre high!
The two towers are connected by a sky bridge and are made of glass and stainless steel.
After years of construction it was officially opened in 1999, the year we visited Malaysia, and now you can go to an observation deck at the top and get a great view of Kuala Lumpur.

One of the the first things that you notice when you are in Malaysia, especially in Kuala Lumpur is that they like things not only big, but tall. The top of the KL Telecom tower is the best view of any city in the world that you will ever see.
Wizz up the super fast elevator and you are presented with a spectacular 360 degree view of Malaysia's capital city in all its glory.
Be prepared to wait for the elevator, very popular tourist spot.

Merdeka Square is the Government administrative area of
Kuala Lumpur, courthouses, etc. Across from this building is where the Poms use to play cricket and lubricate parched throats with Gin Slings and other refreshing drinks (usually alcoholic). On 31st of August every year this area is witness to a full on patriotic parade and celebration for Malaysia's Independence Day. Merdeka (Free) Day.
Very patroitic kids on bikes with large flags cruise the city.
