kenoathtravels.com - on the farm

Just go . . .

Young Nelly got a bit bored while heading down from the Alice and tried to have a look out the drivers side window.
This could not have been comfortable, and what's with those ears?

Nelly wasn't even on the farm for a week when she scored a horses hoof in the head. She was very sore indeed and has been renamed 'Lucky Nelly'.
She is now back to normal, snapping, barking, etc . . . damn!

Ken's new company car.

Ken's last day at the Advocate.
All ready for the farm.
Those who were present later on in the afternoon were privvy to a display of colourful language which could have been a combination of various SE Asian languages.
Then again parasite and naematode are words which do not need any explaination when combined and used to describe certain individuals in the immediate vicinity.

Ken's new office . . . no grizzling about airconditioning out here!

No need for a fuel card out here, and unlike petrol stations between
Alice and Port Augusta we have Leaded and Unleaded on the farm.

Oh what fun the kids had during school holidays.

Main entrance into the farm and letterbox on the right.

All the mod cons on the farm including an original non olympic size swimming pool.
Note that is has that authentic brown creek water appearance.

This is how we feed the horses in the Hammond Paddock. Jack keeps telling me how good the trailer is that I brought down from the Alice.

Jack reckons there's heaps of life left in the old trailer still

How's this for a golden oldie, tractor complete with its own arc welding unit on the back, ready for the odd bit of work out in the paddock.

And yes, it does work . . .

The horse ring has nearly been finished as far as the painting is concerned.
Still more sanding on the rusty bits but a splash of undercoat and a couple of coats of white and it will look as good as new.

Shock, horror . . . could this be Nelly's first kill in the bush? Or did the fox die of fright when it saw the size of Nelly's ears?

Surveying what has been done already, Farmer Ken wonders when all these bloody horse yards are going to be finished.
