Just go . . .

The infamous Golden Triangle was on our agenda when visiting Thailand. With great trepidation we made the journey, only to be greeted and rushed at by a local chook!
Gone are the Drug Lords (?) and just the swollen Mekong River greets you. We had a boat ride on the river which touches not only Thailand but Laos and Burma. Only souvenir shops to get you hooked these days . . . and watch out for the killer chook!!!

During our Northern Thailand Village Trek all of the food had to be carried with us as it was not expected for the tribes people to supply a dozen hungry westeners tucker as they limped into their village. This is fair enough as these villages are self sustaining and barely have enough for themselves.
So the sight of a fat pig signals that the locals will be into a feast pretty soon, but I don't know where the pumpkin will be stuffed?

Wat Po in Bangkok is there the big fella resides.
The Reclining Buddah is a sight and a half.
He's covered in gold and stretches the entire length of the building in which he is housed.
In and around the grounds you will also find various Buddahs of all shapes and sizes, as in all parts of Thailand, I mean to say, it is a Budhist country . . .
The six toes on the big fella are a worry though.

At the beginning of our Jungle Trek was the Elephant Camp. A bit of a rest stop by the side of the river to top up on water and other supplies.
In a cage was this monster of a snake. He comes out to the amusement of the tourists and doesn't really do much except hang over the shoulders of bemused visitors. It looks like it is kept well fed and I think even with such handling it is able to remain asleep during all this activity . . .
